Committees in Service to the Fellowship
Committees are where the fellowship transforms shared values into sustained actions. They are trusted servant groups formed to carry specific responsibilities on behalf of Psychedelics in Recovery® as a whole. Rather than centralizing authority, committees distribute service—allowing members to contribute their skills, experience, and care in focused and collaborative ways.
Each committee exists to support the health, unity, and continuity of the fellowship. They provide structure without hierarchy, guidance without control, and continuity without rigidity. Through committee service, members practice cooperation, accountability, and humility while helping ensure that the work of the fellowship is not carried by any one individual alone.
Serving on a committee is both an act of stewardship and a path of personal growth. It connects members to the wider body of PIR®, strengthens communication across the fellowship, and helps carry the message forward in ways that are thoughtful, ethical, and sustainable.
Our Current Committees
General Service Representative (GSR) Committee
The GSR Committee serves as the primary link between individual meetings and the broader PIR® service structure. It supports General Service Representatives in understanding service principles, communication responsibilities, and group conscience, helping ensure that information flows clearly and responsibly throughout the fellowship.
Book Committee – Medicines, Sacraments, and Catalysts
This committee is dedicated to the development and stewardship of Medicines, Sacraments, and Catalysts, a book emerging from the collective experience of the fellowship. Its work includes coordinating contributors, organizing testimony, guiding editorial decisions, and ensuring the book reflects PIR®’s values, depth, and diversity of experience.
12-Step Book Committee
The 12-Step Book Committee is focused on the writing and development of PIR®’s interpretation of the Twelve Steps. This committee works collaboratively to explore language, meaning, and lived experience, translating the core principles of recovery into a framework that resonates with psychedelic-informed recovery while remaining grounded in spiritual integrity.
Literature Committee
The Literature Committee oversees the creation, review, and maintenance of PIR® written materials beyond the primary books. Its role is to ensure that pamphlets, guides, and other resources remain accurate, consistent, inclusive, and aligned with the fellowship’s principles and evolving understanding.
Technology (Tech) Committee
The Tech Committee supports the digital infrastructure of the fellowship, including websites, online platforms, and technical tools that help PIR® communicate and function effectively. Its work helps ensure accessibility, reliability, and thoughtful use of technology in service of connection and recovery.
Public Relations (PR) Committee
The PR Committee is responsible for how PIR® is presented to the world. It supports outreach, public-facing communication, and informational efforts while honoring the fellowship’s traditions around anonymity, integrity, and humility. This committee helps ensure that PIR® is represented clearly, responsibly, and in alignment with its spiritual values.
